In 1997 they started purchasing a variety of products from various artisans/non-profit groups in Latin America. One of their primary imports is Alpaca yarn, which is produced by a non-profit cooperative in Bolivia. This cooperative has trained between 800 and 1200 women to produce beautiful hand knit articles from this yarn. The women are paid fairly for their work. They strive to provide a way for women to provide for their families' basic needs and invest in community development, yet still be able to maintain their traditional lifestyles with dignity.
